Commuters on Brazil’s BR-364 interstate highway were in for a pleasant surprise. The vehicles’ tires screamed when commuters came upon something unexpected in the middle of the road — a 9.8-foot-long snake (around three meters). People who stopped their automobiles and stepped out to help the snake cross the road safely videotaped the incident in the northern city of Porto Velho.

Italo Nascimento Fernandes and his wife were some of the people who were commuting down the road. “We decided to stop the car and get out. There are no signs for the cars to wait so she can cross. I have seen snakes run over on the highway before, and think such a thing is a crime,” Italo told the media. He then also added that many people followed his example and got out of their cars too.
As the anaconda made its way across multiple lanes, it climbed over the guardrail into the center of the road and made its way to safety to the other side of the street.
The anaconda’s age is believed to be ten years old, and the snake was most likely looking for food or refuge when it slithered to the busy road, according to the expert.
Although the coʟᴏssal snakes in the photos appear to be ᴅᴀɴɢᴇʀᴏᴜs, they are not ᴘᴏɪsᴏɴᴏᴜs. In reality, there have never been any confirmed accounts of a green anaconda ᴄᴏɴsᴜᴍɪɴɢ a human. However, zoologists advise people to use ᴄᴀᴜᴛɪᴏɴ while approaching the animal, since it is capable of ᴀᴛᴛᴀᴄᴋing if it feels ᴛʜʀᴇᴀᴛened.
